LANCÔME VISIONNAIRE ADVANCED MULTI-CORRECTING CREAM

We live in an age of digital marketing and we're daily bombarded with millions of commercials – you're practically unable to watch a movie or TV series without quite a few advertising breaks, YouTube videos continue with such practise, magazines are cluttered with ads that seemingly occupy 70% of newspaper space, while Instagram influencers constantly present and endeavour to sell new products that promises unbeliavable outcomes. Joe Chernov said: „Good marketing makes that company looks smart, great marketing makes the costumer feel smart!“  Exactly that part of our personality is targeted by corporations, all in order to convince us that we'll feel good, more beautiful and smarter if we buy their product. The market is literally flooded with products of diverse price range and one of the controversial issues that we frequently face is: whether those expensive are,  in terms of quality and efficiency, indeed superior to cheaper ones. I've often heard explanations how upon purchasing of cosmetics, decorative and preparative alike, we actually pay for the name of high-end brands, while similar or even finer creams or lipsticks can be obtained in every drugstore. What prompted me to write a handful of words on this topic is my experience regarding Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Multi-Correcting cream.

Four features calculated in the price of the product – today I'll speak about creams, but it can be applied on cosmetics as a whole – depends on ingredients and raw material from which the cream is made, the technology, the packaging and the brand. Based on this, they can be divided in three categories: those lower priced, higher and professional. The first group consist of mostly consumers creams, they doesn't cost much and are affordable for everyone. The second comprise creams with more concentrated formulas, with better research and manufacturing technology, with dermatologically tested performance, upgraded and prettier packaging and admirers that would buy just about anything from a particular brand. The professional creams can be found and bought exclusively in salons that operates with a specific kind of cosmetics. They also presume a sophisticated formulas, advanced engineering and clinical analysis that supports the results, because professional cosmetics underwents detailed testings in comparison to that for wider consumption.

So far I haven't use professional creams, but I used those in first two categories and assessed the moisturizing creams from drugstores, opposing them to Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator cream, All About Eyes eye cream from the same line, Dior Hydra Life Créme Sorbet Pro-Jeunesse facial cream and Dior Hydra Life Cooling Hydration Sorbet eye gel. Drugstore creams didn't even ensured the proclaimed moisturize, my face was dehydrated and the portions of skin dried with the peeling marks. With Clinique and Dior creams such unpleasantries haven't occurred at any point. I noticed the difference between creams of these two brands as well: while Moisture Surge provides deep hydration that lasts all day, Hydra Life truly changes the skin appearance. I remember one day when I glanced in the mirror and thought how my skin never looked so splendid - it was hydrated, had a healthy glow, was absolutely pure and extremely soft and smooth.
Lancôme cosmetic items are on my repertoire for years nad I'm utterly satisfied with their activity, and I shared my impressions and delight for the following: profoundly hydrating Énergie de Vie eye cream and face mask, inevitable daily tonic Douceur and the salvation for so-called „bad skin days“ – Advanced Génifique serum and cream. Searching for a cream against wrinkles that also offers hydration, justified by my previous positive adventures with this brand and on the saleswoman's recommendation, I've purchased Lancôme Visionnaire.

After 12 exploratory years the Lancôme laboratory created the Visionnaire Corrector, a new vision of impeccable skin. The formula is devised for skin rejuvenation and mending and refinement of wrinkles, pores and uneven texture.  The collection encompass 10 various products, from serum and night cream to eye cream, designed to alleviate the signs of aging. For my Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Multi-Correcting cream it is cited to assumes the role of „second skin“, a cream that is permeated by the unique LR2412 molecule in combination with a cocktail of constituents, which meets the women expectations pertaining to reduction of wrinkles, radiance and vigor. Furthermore, the data indicates that the wrinkles are corrected from day to day, toning is balanced and the skin is fraught, hydrated and plump. Likewise the pliability is promoted, along with supple polishing that reflects a sublime, evershining luster. The refreshing scent and rich texture melts in contact with the skin and leaves it moisturized, and the cream itself is convenient in the morning and in the evening. Besides all that, it's dermatologically approved.

However, my acquaintance with Visionnaire is as depicted: upon buying it I employed the cream before bedtime and felt a slight burning sense on my cheeks but I initially thought that it's something common because I use it for the first time and it may take a while for skin to accommodate. Still I was a little worried because I never had analogous annoyance with any other cream and when after 15 minutes the pricking didn't stop, I went to rinse it off. Considering the information which states that this cream proactively inflicts the wrinkles, I decided to give it a second chance. I utilized it on my forehead where the wrinkles is most prominent and there was no tingling. So I thought OK, I can use it on that area, but when I woke up a couple of days later and looked in the mirror, I saw ruddiness and tiny subcutaneous acne. That allergic reaction or rash, I'm not sure how to define it precisely, lasted two weeks before it altogether withdrew. This is the first cream that caused redness and hives on my skin, reminding me that I should always ask for a sample size to check if there's any undesirable consequences, to thorughly research it on the Internet and gather as much reference as possible, to take everything that I hear from salespeople with reserve because they're not experts in skin care, but people who primarily try to sell a commodity. If I perceive that my skin reacts negatively or that the condition hasn't improved over time, then I change the cream because I can't change the skin. I remark taht this is my personal experience with Lancôme Vissionaire and while in my case didn't prove to be the best choice, it doesn't mean that someone else won't enjoy in completely contrary effect.
I can conclude that more expensive, branded creams don't necessarily means better results, they can be excellent as with Clinique Moisture Surge and Dior Hydra Life, but can also spawn radically unwanted and unpredicted repercussions like Lancôme Visionnaire. I'm certain that creams of this rank inclose the precious and carefully selected ingredients which are seldom available in drugstore assortment and for that reason the higher price is legitimate and valid, but the principal objective is to find what's affinitive toward our skin. We mustn't forget the important factors of influence too, such as genetics, lifestyle, nutrition, what we take into our body, how much water do we drink, do we exercise, how much we sleep and the amount of stress we're exposed to on daily basis. Creams are just one aspect that in interaction with above mentioned modifies the skin prospect, but by all means not the crucial one. We can't ignore the skin's natural requirements and expect that one cream, regardless of price, will magically solve everything.

It's anticipated that the future of beauty industry will manifest in personalization of products, that each customer will have their own line of cosmetics with which to care for the face and body and which will in all respects gratify the skin's exigencies. Until then, we're obliged to browse through the vast market supply and seek what's optimal for us and what render the visible distinction, making our skin thriving and wonderful independently of expenditure.

Best wishes til the next post!

  7. Hello dear,
sorry, but I would not buy the Lancôme Visionnaire cream despite your positive experiences. Why? Because of the ingredients: The product contains, among other things, palm oil, and for palm oil plantations, rainforest is cut down and Orangutans must die ... Moreover, it contains according to the CODECHECK INFO a "very questionable" ingredient - Poloxamer 338 - and a "questionable" - PEG-10 Dimethicone.

For me creams are no longer in question, which are not environmentally friendly ... But I find your photos again very nice.

    1. Dear Traude,
if you read the post more closely, you'll see that I DIDN'T have positive experience with it, exactly the opposite, which is obvious from the allergic reaction caused by one of the ingredients, and which is described in the text itself. So I'm recommending everyone to ask for a sample to check it out before purchasing.
I'm glad you like the photos and respect your decision to use only environmentally friendly creams.
      Have a beautiful new day!

  8. I'm going through the search for a hydrator that I just love right now, too. I'm currently using Olay Luminous and it's been really good, so I may stick with that - especially after reading about your reaction to the Lancome. I may put some of the others you've listed (like the Clinique) to the test, too. Thanks for another great review!

  23. I only own one product from Lancome - the idol teint ultra wear foundation which I adore, their skincare has been far out of my price range, there are other "High end" brands that are more reasonably priced and still incredibly effective.

  37. Great post ! My understanding with skincare its not the price that make it efficient but the active ingredients and its been a while since I kind of stop buying luxury brands. They are not more efficient than a cheap one. What customer need now to look its ingredients. This is what is important not a pretty packaging and a price tag at £60 a pot. Luxury brand have high price that are mostly explained by the large worl wide advertising and also famous people that they pay Millions to use their face.

I used Lancome before but not this range. I will most certainly never buy this brand ever again or any very other high price luxury brands.
