LUMENE NORDIC HYDRA LÄHDE ARCTIC DEW QUENCHING AQUA SERUM

I'm a person who is spellbound by sky. Even as a little girl I've always beholded the clouds and look for shapes in them or stood enchanted by crystal clear blue sky and unimaginably beautiful colors in the times of sunset and sunrise. I deem the sky a work of art and a kaleidoscope that evokes the sterling reverence. One of my great desires is to see Aurora Borealis. When studying the photos on the Internet I can hardly fathom or believe what stateliness emanates from those colors nor I can find the appropriate words for such mesmerizing beauty. To experience it „face to face“ would be magical and incredible, the moment in which we can only dwell in silent awe and realize that nothing made by man could ever be compared to wondrous nature. Immediately after my moving to Norway I was amazed by the colors of twilight and dawn, when the clouds and the horizon are tinged with a peculiar and extraordinary shade of pink – literally the pink sky. The other phenomena that intrigued me and which is actual in summer, is that the day lasts till midnight and it doesn't get completely dark, more like a 3 hour long eve, so I often say in joke that I have two days in one. Similar occurrence happens in Finland, where 8-month night rules with low temperatures that freezes everything in sight, and then the period of 24-hours sunshine proceeds. Exactly such an unusual rhytm of day and night and darkness and light is behooving to nature and allows the growth of berries and the flow of arctic water that Lumene employs in their products, representing them under the slogan „Beauty Born of Light“.
Lumene's philosophy is deeply rooted and conditioned by Finland, a country in which the wellbeing rituals are greatly influenced by women's relationship with the environment, the ubiquitous nature and unorthodox light cycle, but also the place where the authentic and undemanding approach to beauty is celebrated. From forests, sea shores and marshes, Finland is blessed with remarkable nature. This lavish and unbridled surroundings hides numerous natural resources with healing and nurturing properties on which the experts from Lumene laboratories are focused. Carefully choosing wild Nordic extracts that embodies the diversity of Arctic nature, they're creating product formulas for safe and efficient solving of specific problems and skin needs, with the absolute implementation of principles of sustainability. Apart from meticulously selected plants, water is the key component in skin care, and Lumene utilizes the one from a natural spring in Lapland wilderness, in the proximity of polar circle where, famous for its purity, it lies far from the eyes of the world. Supremely clear water is filtered through sand and gravel generated after the ice age and it emerges intact from deeper stratum through billions of years old bedrock, where is then being gathered directly. That's why Lumene can boast in preparations that contains more than 80% of natural ingredients, while in some formulas the percentage reaches up to 99%, but they doesn't involve parabens, sodium lauryl sulphate, phthalates, formaldehyde donors, mineral oils, bisphenol A, chlorphenesin, triclosan, polyaminopropyl bigvanide (PBAB), methylisothiazolinone (MIT) and methylchloroisothiazolinone (CMIT). Withal, they're vegan and haven't been tested on animals.
As I've written on countless occasions before, I'm an avid admirer of nature and I unavoidably feel better in it, it clears my mind and charges me with positive energy. Likewise I'm excited to try out new products with optimal, seriously picked and balanced concentration of natural constituents – I regard them superiorly responsive toward our skin and I regularly impart them advantage. I first heard for Lumene upon my arrival i Norway and I've already found many favorable items in their offer, among which Nordic Hydra Lähde Arctic Dew Quenching Aqua serum is particularly distinguished. Hydration is one of my priorities because, as humans require water to survive, so it is necessary for the skin. Otherwise it comes to dryness, signs of aging and noticeably pronounced wrinkles.
The serum is stored in a blue glass bottle of 30 ml with the pipette on top, more or less standard packaging, but still attractive on the shelf. On the official site they call it the pool of active and productive hydration, with a daily dose of Arctic water enriched by organic regenerative birch, Nordic algae and hyaluronic acid in every single droplet. Arctic Dew intensively hydrates the deepest surface layers of epidermis and polishes the tiny lines and wrinkles, producing a plump, healthy and youthful complexion. Floral fragrance vanishes in contact with face but if you're not a fan of aromatized skin care products, it may be a bit too suggestive. The texture is gelly-watery, easy to smear and quick to absorb. It reminds me of Vichy Mineral 89, with a difference of Vichy being slightly denser, but end results are identical: all day hydration and pleasant feel of cooling. I started using it in winter, when temperatures dropped to -25°C, but no matter of the conditions, my skin wasn't dried and was completely hydrated, and it proved to be excellent for warmer days and summer heat when it cools and refreshes. Currently I'm combining it with Clinique Moisture Surge cream which I apply after serum imbibes in the face, and in the evening when I wash it off the skin is rendered smooth, soft and fresh, along with healthy, radiant and natural glow.
I'm fascinated how nature devises a perfect equilibrium within itself, for example the extreme cold and long months of darkness are awarded with the celestial dance of Aurora Borealis and accompanied by 24-hour lasting daylight, while the game of light and dark evolves into sprouting of plants that thrives despite the worst coldness and impossible circumstances and are beneficial to our skin. Analogous sensation is evoked by this serum: when I use it I have the impression of morning dew on my face that remains for the entire day.
Have you tried Nordic Hydra Lähde Arctic Dew Quenching Aqua serum? Or some other Lumene product? What are your impressions? Write me in the comments.
Till the next post, best wishes!

  5. Nordic nature fascinates me, possibly because it is completely different from Mediterranean area. I only read about the sky light phenomena, I never experienced it myself and I'm sure it must be interesting, perhaps even worth the long winter. Those endless summer days must be quite an experience. I'm sure that women in Norway and Finland have their own beauty secrets and self-care rituals that enable them to take care of themselves even when winters are harsh and when summer days are so long. It would be fascinating to learn more about Scandinavian traditions. This Nordic Arctic Dew Serum sounds like a great product. Finland is known for quality brands, I'd say.
