VICTORIA'S SECRET BOMBSHELL EAU DE PARFUM

Secret…  A word that's echoing mysterious overtone, but probably there is no individual who doesn't keep at least few of them. It could be a small matter such as cooking ingredient, card tricks or makeup technique, but also on a much larger scale – Coca-Cola recipe, elusive societies like Freemasons or architectural practices which Antoni Gaudí, the builder of Sagrada Família basilica in Barcelona, took to his grave. It's interesting to remark that all lists of reputed secrets includes one especially: imperial napkin fold. It sounds somewhat ridiculous given that it is an ordinary serviette, however it's one of the prominent governmental conundrums in Austria, known only to two people who take an oath of non-disclosure at all costs. Design dates back to Habsburg dominion, and today is being arranged when high state officials entertain receptions for distinguished and esteemed visitants. I think that when we try to hide something, it exponentially increases the intrigue, particularly if we add the word secret, as is the case with Victoria's Secret.
At the very mention of Victoria's Secret, the world's most famous lingerie brand, images of supremely beautiful and attractive supermodels with wings suddenly appears before my eyes. I suppose that founders Roy and Gaye Raymond, when they commenced the company in 1977., could hardly fathom how much enthusiasm it will arouse and how impatiently people would await each new show. Judging by their claims, there were several manufacturers who supplied the three-pieced arrays of common underwear at department stores, and the fancy ones were cached in drawers for special purposes such as honeymoon, while padded bras were virtually unattainable. Unhappy with the offer which he described as ugly nylon nightgowns and with the conduct of saleswomen who regarded him an intruder every time he bought something for his wife, Roy Raymond embark on eight-year study of the market, materials and models, which eventually led to the launch of Victoria's Secret – a boutique where men could feel comfortable as well, when choosing gifts for their better halfs. First part of the name refers to renowned Queen of England and mirrors the refinement and elegance of Victorian era, the second points to what is hidden underneath the clothes, and the recognizable trademark is inspired by the angel mascot of Gaye Raymond's Pi Beta Phi sorority. They earned 500 000 dollars in the initial year alone, and are nowadays considered the most prestigious and exclusive lingerie brand with shops all over the globe, and have expanded their business to swimsuits, makeup and perfumes, of which Bombshell caught my eye.
In my opinion, Victoria's Secret perfumes embodies their angels: they introduce extremely light and playful fruity, floral and powdery flares, yet noticeable and persistent for hours. Bombshell Eau de Parfum has been promoted as number 1 fragrance that, through notes of purple passion fruit, Shangri-La peony and vanilla orchid, represents the most glamorous odor in their collection. This fruity-floral aroma is devised for ladies with attitude, for women who, wherever they step, quakes the spirits with their true sex appeal. The expression itself supports this, as bombshell is a precursor of the term „sex symbol“ which was originally exercised to illustrate popular female sex icons. The first one to be crowned with this epithet was Jean Harlow in the movie Platinum Blonde, followed by Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Gina Lollobrigida and many other Hollywood divas.
The packaging too reflects essence of the brand, as the glass bottle is painted with distinctive pink stripes on the back and decorated with a black bow. The perfume comes in a set with shower gel and body lotion, and the accompanying 7,5 ml vial is perfect for purse. Rounded box in the combination of pink nuances and with Victoria's Secret Bombshell title just captivated me – no other perfume in my assortment has remotely resembling emballage. I've written before how much I love to use lotions that complements perfumes. Although milder in scent, it releases blooming freshness after showering and I get the sense that I'm bathed in perfume. I can employ it independently, and even then people asks me what fragrance do I wear.
I'm inclined to believe that Victoria's Secret perfumes, due to their perky sparkliness, are more appropriate for girls, but this one is different because it emantes all the majestic charms of the brand. With Dolce & Gabbana L'Impératrice it forms an integral segment of my summer and sweet fragrance selection, reserved solely for that season. The official site states that bombshell lurks in every woman, so this perfume will undoubtedly help you to unleash her to the surface – you'll definitely won't go undetected.
Have you tried Victoria's Secret Bombshell or any other of their perfumes? What are your impressions? Write me in the comments.
Best wishes till the next post!
